First batch of hospitality, homestay training concludes at ITI Pangin

PANGIN, Jul 11: The first batch of the Short-Term Course on Basic Hospitality and Homestay Management conducted by Government ITI Pangin concluded on Saturday, with 25 participants completing the six-day skill development programme.
The course, organised under the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, was held from July 6 to 11 and drew participants from Siang, West Siang and East Siang districts.
Designed to strengthen skills in the tourism and hospitality sector, the programme covered a wide range of topics, including homestay management, housekeeping, guest relations, food and beverage service, menu planning, grooming and personal hygiene, sustainable tourism, community-based tourism, digital marketing, first aid, and disaster preparedness.
Participants also underwent practical training in bed-making, table setting, service etiquette, tray service, hospitality role-plays, guest handling, and the operation of fire extinguishers and other emergency response measures.
Officials said the programme focused on building practical competencies and encouraging professional standards in hospitality services, with emphasis on customer satisfaction, cleanliness and safety.
The Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said such short-term courses are aimed at creating employment opportunities by equipping local youth and aspiring entrepreneurs with industry-relevant skills, particularly in view of the growing potential of homestay tourism in Arunachal Pradesh.
With the successful completion of the inaugural batch, Government ITI Pangin plans to organise more such training programmes to build a skilled workforce and support the State's expanding tourism and hospitality sector. (DIPRO)
