Itanagar, Jul 28: The Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC) has become the first Urban Local Body (ULB) in Arunachal Pradesh to be onboarded with the State Government's Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Online Trade Licence Portal, marking a major step towards digital governance and citizen-centric service delivery.
The portal was inaugurated by PMC Chief Councillor Tagom Padung in the presence of Deputy Chief Councillor Kamin Lego, Councillors, Municipal Executive Officer Jayanti Pertin, Executive Engineer Tadar Tarang, PMC officials, and the technical team from the Arunachal Pradesh Innovation and Investment Park (APIIP) under the Department of Planning, Investment and Finance.
Addressing the gathering, Padung described the initiative as a landmark move towards modernising municipal services and making them more accessible to citizens and businesses. He said the digital platform would improve transparency, reduce processing time and strengthen the ease of doing business in Pasighat.
The Council also acknowledged the support of East Siang Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani for her guidance and encouragement in successfully implementing the initiative.
In its first phase, the portal is dedicated exclusively to trade licence services. Residents and business establishments under the PMC jurisdiction can now apply for new trade licences, renew existing licences, track application status and request deletion of trade items through the online platform.
The launch marks a significant milestone in strengthening digital governance in Arunachal Pradesh and reflects the Council's commitment to building an efficient, transparent and technology-driven municipal administration while creating a more business-friendly environment in the oldest administrative centre in Arunachal Pradesh.
