BOMDILA, Jul 30: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office, Bomdila, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt of India, organized a Special Outreach Programme (SOP) on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) at Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalaya, Dahung in West Kameng district today.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students, teachers and local residents about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to encourage collective efforts towards building a drug free society.
Speaking as a resource person, Tsering Dorjee Khrimey, TGT NSCBAV Dahung, sensitized the participants about the objectives of the NMBA. Highlighting the adverse physical, mental, social, and economic consequences of drug abuse, he urged the participants to adopt healthy lifestyles, stay away from addictive substances, and act as ambassadors of awareness within their families and communities.
On the occasion, headmistress Anita Bachung administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge to the participants reaffirming their commitment to making society free from the menace of substance abuse.
To encourage active participation and creative expression, a theme based essay writing competition on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was also organised and the winners of the competition were awarded prizes in recognition of their outstanding performances.
The programme concluded by emphasizing the importance of sustained awareness and community participation in achieving the vision of a drug free India under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
