PASIGHAT, Aug 2: Women Against Social Evils (WASE), East Siang, virtually participated in the launch of the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his address, the Prime Minister said that a Viksit Bharat requires healthy, confident and drug-free youth. He stated that the campaign, which began as a pilot project in Kashi, has now grown into a nationwide movement to combat substance abuse among the youth.
Calling upon young Indians to actively support the initiative, the Prime Minister urged them to take the pledge against drug abuse and participate in 100 weeks of awareness and community activities to realise the vision of a drug-free India.
The WASE officials reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the campaign by promoting awareness against substance abuse and encouraging community participation across the district.
KHONSA: As part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Yuva Viksit Bharat Abhiyan, the District Administration, Tirap in collaboration with the 36 Battalion CRPF, Care Me Home Sudhar Ghar, Charju, New Light Foundation Rehabilitation Centre, Old Tupi, and My Bharat volunteers organized a foot march from the DC’s Office to the Khonsa Bazaar Taxi Stand.
Launching the programme, Deputy Commissioner Badonlum Tawsik called upon the youth to remain committed to their education and future aspirations by staying away from all forms of substance abuse, including Kaani, brown sugar, and other narcotic drugs. He urged them to lead healthy, disciplined lives and become responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to nation building.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to students and young people to spread the awareness and knowledge shared by recovering inmates and counsellors on the devastating consequences of drug addiction, which destroys individuals, families, and society at large. He sought active cooperation of all stakeholders in the collective effort to eradicate drug menace from the district.
He further administered the Nasha Mukt Yuva Viksit Bharat Pledge, reaffirming the collective commitment towards building a drug-free society.
Earlier, the formal function commenced with a welcome address by the District Youth Officer Sukhveer Bishnoi, followed by the participation of My Bharat volunteers.
ADC (HQs) Namneet Singh urged everyone to carry forward the message of the campaign by putting into practice the valuable lessons shared during the awareness sessions and working collectively towards building a drug-free Tirap and a Viksit Bharat.
Later, HoD and youth participants assembled at the DC’s office conference hall to witness the live telecast of Nasha Mukt Yuva Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, launched by the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, at Deomali ADC headquarters, Environment & Forests Minister Wangki Lowang formally launched the Nasha Mukt Yuva Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, in presence of ADC i/c Indira T Riba, Assistant Commissioner, ZPM Deomali Yalik Lowang, ZPM Soha Wanglem Thingnok, HoDs, police personnel, teachers, students, members of the public, and representatives of rehabilitation centres. On the occasion, the Minister administered the Nasha Mukt Yuva Viksit Bharat Pledge, reaffirming the collective resolve to work towards a drug-free society.
LIKABALI: As part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, an awareness-cum-youth interaction programme was organized at the GHSS Likabali auditorium here today.
Organized by the District Administration, Lower Siang in collaboration with the Police and Health Departments, the event was aimed at mobilizing the youth towards a Nasha Mukt Bharat, a key pillar of the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Students, teachers, government officials and other stakeholders participated enthusiastically in the programme. The participants also took the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to combating substance abuse and promoting a healthy, responsible and drug-free society.
Addressing the gathering, Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner Gobi Nyicyor emphasized that the progress of the nation towards a Viksit Bharat is closely linked with the health, well-being and constructive participation of its youth. He called upon young people to become ambassadors of a drug-free society, and urged all stakeholders to remain vigilant and work collectively to prevent substance abuse and safeguard the future of the younger generation.
The programme was attended by Bomken Basar, Superintendent of Police Lower Siang, along with HoDs and other officials.
The programme aimed to sensitize young people about the harmful effects of drug abuse and substance addiction, while encouraging them to contribute actively towards building a healthy, responsible and drug-free society.
During the programme, Abraham Tayeng, OC Likabali police station, and Dr Gobuk Doke served as resource persons. They highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, early intervention and collective responsibility in addressing the growing challenges associated with substance abuse.
The resource persons urged students to stay away from drugs and other harmful substances and encouraged them to spread awareness among their peers, families and communities. The programme also underlined the crucial role of parents, teachers, law-enforcement agencies, health professionals and the community in creating a safe and supportive environment for young people.
The programme culminated with the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan.
BOMDILA: West Kameng district joined the nationwide ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ with an awareness-cum-youth interaction programme held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in Bomdila on Sunday.
Organised as part of the national campaign to mobilise youth towards a drug-free India, the programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from MY Bharat volunteers, NCC cadets and students from various educational institutions. Participants also took the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to combating substance abuse and promoting a healthy, responsible and drug-free society.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar said the country's journey towards a Viksit Bharat depends on the strength, character and well-being of its youth. He urged young people to become ambassadors of a drug-free society and called on all stakeholders to remain vigilant and work collectively to eliminate substance abuse and safeguard the nation's future.
The programme was attended by the Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE), District Medical Officer (DMO), SDPO Kalaktang, Town Magistrate and other district officials.
The event concluded with the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address under the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan', in which he called upon the youth to play an active role in building a drug-free India as the foundation of a developed nation.
YINGKIONG: Joining the rest of the nation, District Administration Upper Siang today participated in the nationwide launch of the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ campaign at Govt Hr Sec School (GHSS), Yingkiong.
The programme witnessed the live address of the Prime Minister during the launch of the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan.
Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang, accompanied by Superintendent of Police Token Saring, HoDs, Principals, headmasters, teachers, and students from GHSS Yingkiong, Town Secondary School, Parsing Secondary School, and VKV Yingkiong attended the programme and reaffirmed their commitment to building a drug-free society.
Addressing the gathering, the DC highlighted the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 15 August 2020 to eradicate substance abuse through community participation, mass awareness, and rehabilitation. He said the campaign aligns with the Prime Minister's vision of creating a drug-free youth population as the foundation of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
He stressed that a developed nation requires healthy, responsible, and drug-free youth, who are the country's most valuable human resource. Emphasizing that the fight against substance abuse must begin with self-awareness, he called upon every individual to take personal responsibility in making Upper Siang a drug-free district.
The SP underscored the importance of creating widespread awareness to keep young people physically fit, mentally strong, and free from the influence of drugs. Dr Karo Teng, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Yingkiong, administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Pledge and briefed participants about the services available at the District Drug De-addiction Centre.
AALO: MY Bharat, West Siang, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, successfully organized the district-level programme under the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ at the Ramakrishna Mission School, Aalo in association with Ramakrishna Mission, Aalo.
The programme was organized as part of the nationwide campaign during which the Prime Minister virtually addressed youth across the country, inspiring them to actively participate in the national movement against substance abuse and to contribute towards the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat and Viksit Bharat@2047.
The event was graced by North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) Vice Chancellor Tejum Padu as chief guest and the Principal Ramakrishna Mission School, Aalo, Swayamprabhananda, who presided over the programme. Their inspiring addresses highlighted the crucial role of young people in nation building and emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy, disciplined and drug-free lifestyle.
Students, faculty members, NSS unit and youth participants enthusiastically joined the live interaction with the Prime Minister. During the programme, participants collectively took the Nasha Mukti Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to remain free from substance abuse and to spread awareness within their families, educational institutions and communities.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and volunteers, reflecting the growing commitment of the youth of West Siang towards building a drug-free society.
