TAWANG, Aug 8: Turning mathematical concepts into a hands-on learning experience, PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Tawang organized an engaging Brick Making Activity under the Kaushal Bodh initiative, enabling students to connect classroom learning with practical skills and real-life applications.
Moving beyond textbooks, the students learned by doing as they participated in the process of making bricks and explored mathematical concepts such as dimensions, area and volume through practical measurement, calculation and observation. The activity helped students understand how concepts taught in the classroom find meaningful applications in everyday life.
The programme also incorporated Art-Integrated Learning, encouraging students to use creativity, teamwork, experimentation and problem-solving while working together. The hands-on approach made learning interactive and enjoyable while developing practical skills and curiosity among the students.
The activity reflected the spirit of “Learning by Doing | Skills for Life | Mathematics in Action”, demonstrating how skill-based education can make academic concepts more relatable and easier to understand.
Such experiential initiatives are in alignment with the vision of NEP 2020 and the objectives of PM SHRI Schools, which emphasize holistic, competency-based and skill-oriented education.
