CS inspects development projects in Khonsa

KHONSA, Aug 9: Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta, accompanied by Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin, inspected several major infrastructure and development projects in Khonsa, including the Zonal General Hospital, the road sinking area near the Post Office, the newly constructed PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School, the District Museum and the 132/33 KV Power Sub-Station.

During his visit to the PM SHRI GHSS, the Chief Secretary took note of the shortage of furniture in the girls’ hostel and directed the executing agency, EE (PWD), to prepare an estimate for the required furniture.

Meanwhile, a delegation comprising Tirap Zilla Parishad Chairperson John KK Matey, BJP Tirap unit president Lankham Wangsu and ZPMs of the district submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary seeking urgent intervention with the Govt of Assam for widening, strengthening and permanent restoration of the Assam portion of the Khonsa-Bogapani-Joypur road (NH-315A).

The two-day visit of the Chief Secretary to Tirap focused on reviewing key development initiatives, inspecting major infrastructure projects and strengthening inter-departmental coordination for effective implementation of government programmes. (DIPRO)
