RONO HILLS, Aug 10: Rajiv Gandhi University organized the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ programme under the aegis of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India at the RGU’s mini auditorium here today.
The programme was organized with the objective of inspiring young people to adopt a drug-free lifestyle, promote volunteerism, leadership, responsible citizenship, and active participation in the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. Students, research scholars, NSS volunteers, faculty members, and university officials participated enthusiastically in the event.
The programme featured a Special Address by Yadam Bagang, Youth Icon, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, New Delhi, on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat @2047 and NashaMuktYuva for Viksit Bharat’. She inspired participants to become ambassadors of a drug-free society and underscored the importance of youth leadership, discipline, innovation, and social responsibility in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.
A NashaMukt Bharat Awareness Video was screened to sensitize participants about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of preventive awareness. This was followed by the Youth Pledge, during which students collectively reaffirmed their commitment to remain free from drugs and to contribute positively towards society and nation-building.
The programme also included an engaging Interactive Question-and-Answer Session, allowing students and research scholars to interact directly with the Youth Icon and officials from MY Bharat on issues related to youth development, volunteerism, career opportunities, and national initiatives.
