TAWANG, Aug 13: As part of the celebrations leading up to Independence Day 2026, an Inter-House Tricolour Rangoli Art Competition was organized at PM SHRI School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tawang with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The competition provided students with an opportunity to express their love for the nation, creativity, artistic skills and understanding of India’s rich cultural heritage through colourful Rangoli designs inspired by the tricolour and the spirit of Independence Day.
Students from different Houses participated enthusiastically and created vibrant and meaningful Rangolis using the colours of the national flag—Saffron, White and Green, along with creative decorative elements. The artworks reflected themes of national unity, patriotism, courage, women empowerment and the pride of being Indian.
Among the prominent themes and creative expressions presented by the students were “Bharat Ki Beti,” “Jai Bharti,” “Tricolour,” “Mera Desh” and other patriotic concepts. Each Rangoli conveyed a unique message of love for the motherland, unity in diversity and respect for the national flag.
The activity also encouraged students to explore the significance of the tricolour, with Saffron symbolising courage and sacrifice, White representing peace and truth, and Green reflecting prosperity and the richness of the nation. Through their artistic creations, students beautifully connected art with patriotism and civic values.
The Inter-House competition witnessed healthy participation and a spirit of teamwork. Students worked collectively to conceptualise, design and present their Rangolis, thereby developing creativity, cooperation, coordination, aesthetic sense and leadership skills.
School Principal M L Meena appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and highlighted the importance of celebrating national occasions through meaningful educational and creative activities. He encouraged students to carry forward the values of patriotism, unity, discipline and responsible citizenship in their daily lives.
As part of learning outcomes, the event enhanced creativity and artistic expression among students; developed teamwork, cooperation and coordination; strengthened awareness about the significance of the national flag; promoted patriotism, national unity and responsible citizenship; encouraged students to connect art with national values and cultural identity; and provided experiential learning through hands-on creative activity.
