TEZU, Aug 13: As part of Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, Tiranga Yatra was organized at Tezu with patriotic fervour and enthusiastic participation to mark 150 years of Vande Mataram, celebrating the spirit of nationalism, unity and respect for the sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle.
Baplalum Chiba, ZPM Tezu, attended the programme as chief guest, while Gulapso Bellai, ZPM Sunpura, was the guest of honour. Lohit Deputy Commissioner Kesang Ngurup Damo and Superintendent of Police Thutan Jamba were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the DC highlighted the significance of Vande Mataram in India’s freedom movement and the importance of the Tiranga Yatra in promoting patriotism, unity and respect for the national flag.
The chief guest, in his address, emphasized the significance of the occasion and paid tribute to the countless freedom fighters who made immense sacrifices for the independence of the country. He called upon the younger generation to draw inspiration from their courage, dedication and spirit of selfless service and to uphold the values of unity, peace, discipline and patriotism.
Earlier, DACO Bitchey Rijiju stated that the celebration of Vande Mataram and the Tiranga Yatra provides an opportunity to remember the ideals of the freedom movement and strengthen the spirit of national integration and patriotism among citizens.
The programme was also attended by BJP District president Gamso Bellai, HoDs, ITBP personnel, representatives of various political parties, Gaon Burahs, members of the public, students and other stakeholders.
The celebration reinforced the message that the Tricolour and Vande Mataram remain enduring symbols of India’s freedom struggle, national unity and collective pride, while inspiring citizens to contribute towards nation-building with a renewed sense of responsibility and patriotism.
BASAR: Joining the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign conducted from August 9 to 17, the Leparada District Administration organized a Mass Tiranga Yatra at Basar today to celebrate the spirit of patriotism, national unity and pride in the national flag. The event also commemorated the 150 years of the National Song, ‘Vande Mataram’.
Today’s Tiranga Rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, government employees, members of the public, police personnel and also personnel of 49th Battalion ITBP, who came together to honour the national flag and reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of unity and national pride.
Led by Leparada DC Himani Meena and local MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi, the Yatra commenced from the office complex of the Deputy Commissioner, Leparada and proceeded through the main township and market areas, also passing through the Govt Hr Sec School area, before culminating at the Todak Basar Memorial Stadium, Basar.
Carrying the tricolour with pride, the participants raised spirited slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, creating an atmosphere of patriotism and collective pride throughout the township.
Addressing the gathering at Todak Basar Memorial Stadium, the DC urged the students and participants to remember the supreme sacrifices made by the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the nation. She also paid tribute to the brave soldiers guarding the country’s borders, whose dedication and sacrifice enable citizens to live in freedom and hold the national flag high with pride.
The MLA also paid rich tribute to the freedom fighters and emphasized the significance of the Tiranga as a symbol of peace, unity and national pride. She called upon everyone, particularly the younger generation, to uphold the dignity and honour of the national flag and carry forward the values represented by it.
The programme concluded with the singing of Vande Mataram, led by the students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar, followed by the National Anthem, ‘Jana Gana Mana’, sung by all the participants.
The Tiranga Yatra concluded on a patriotic note, with participants coming together to honour the national flag, remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and reaffirm the spirit of national unity and pride.
