AALO, Aug 14: Tiranga bike and cycle rallies were organised at Aalo in West Siang district and Kamba on Friday as part of the ongoing “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, spreading the message of patriotism, national unity and pride in the National Flag.
At Aalo, the rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi and Superintendent of Police Kardak Riba. More than 120 bikers and cyclists, including members of the 30Degree North Bullet Club, Golden Masheer Bike Club and Army cyclists, participated in the rally carrying the National Flag.
The rally aimed to promote patriotism, unity and national pride among the people and added to the festive spirit ahead of Independence Day.
At Kamba, the Tiranga Yatra was organised by the Sub-Divisional Administration and was flagged off from the ADC Office before proceeding towards the General Ground.
Kamba ADC Ejum Angu, AC Todak Riba, heads of offices, PRI members, students and representatives of local schools, along with senior public leaders and residents, participated in the yatra.
Speaking at the programme, ADC Angu emphasised the importance of such programmes in fostering patriotism and national unity. He also highlighted the role of students and youth in building a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047 and recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters.
The programme also featured a collective singing of “Vande Mataram” at the General Ground.
Meanwhile, Partition Horrors Remembrance Day was observed at the DC’s Conference Hall in Aalo to remember the victims and families affected by the Partition of India in 1947. The programme was attended by the DC, SP, HoDs and the DC office staffers. The observance highlighted the painful experiences of Partition while reaffirming the values of peace, unity, harmony and national integration. (DIPRO)
