ANINI, Aug 23: Over 50 farmers participated in an ‘Awareness Generation and Orientation Programme’ on Natural Farming, organized by the Department of Agriculture, Dibang Valley district, at Mipi today.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Duyu Udi, ADO Anini, and attended by Siyo Miwu, ZPM; Anmol Singh, CO Mipi; Dumpi Mega, GPC; Tocha Mipi, GB; Kobe Mihu, GS Kisan Morcha, Dibang Valley, along with farmers and members of the local community.
Neelam Sunny, SMS (Agroforestry), KVK Dibang Valley, who served as a resource person, sensitized farmers on the principles and practical benefits of natural farming. He highlighted the use of indigenous bio-inputs such as Beejamrit and Jeevamrit for improving soil health, reducing dependence on external inputs and promoting sustainable cultivation.
The participants were encouraged to adopt locally suitable, eco-friendly and climate-resilient farming practices. The speakers highlighted the potential of natural farming to reduce input costs, strengthen farm resilience and contribute to sustainable livelihoods in Dibang Valley.
The programme reaffirmed the Dept of Agriculture’s commitment to promoting healthy soils, sustainable agriculture and environmentally responsible farming practices across the district. (DIPRO)
