ITANAGAR, Aug 25: Law, Legislative & Justice, and Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs Minister Kento Jini has chaired the first meeting of the High Power Committee on the Offspring/Non-APST issue at the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall, Civil Secretariat here on Monday.
The meeting brought together representatives of various stakeholders and organisations, who presented their views, concerns and suggestions on the issue.
A detailed presentation was also made before the Committee to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects before the Committee.
The Committee discussed the matter at length and is expected to examine the legal, social and administrative dimensions of the issue before arriving at a considered approach.
The Committee will take into account the perspectives and concerns of all stakeholders while examining the matter, with an emphasis on safeguarding legitimate interests and rights and ensuring the long-term welfare of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
The meeting marked the beginning of the Committee’s deliberations on the sensitive issue, with further consultations expected as the process progresses.
