ITANAGAR, Aug 30: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a state-level workshop on ‘Sewa Sankalp Utsav 2026’ at the DK Convention Centre here on Sunday, with senior party leaders and functionaries attending the programme.
State BJP president Kaling Moyong, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Assam Minister and Arunachal BJP in-charge Ashok Singhal, other ministers, MLAs, Itanagar Mayor, Zilla Parishad Chairpersons, district and Mandal presidents, state office bearers, Morcha representatives, state executive members, chairpersons and party workers participated in the workshop.
The workshop focused on commemorating 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service and preparing the party organisation for the month-long ‘Sewa Sankalp Utsav 2026’.
In a social media post, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the discussions centred on how to effectively communicate the transformation brought about during 25 years of Modi’s public service.
“Many young people have not seen India before the Modi era. What they see today, they may assume has always been this way. Our responsibility is to show the work, tell the story of transformation, and take it to the maximum reach,” Khandu said.
He also described his interaction with BJP Arunachal Pradesh in-charge Ashok Singhal as an insightful session.
The workshop also witnessed the live broadcast of Prime Minister Modi’s 137th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, which was attended by the BJP leaders and workers.
During the programme, the Prime Minister spoke on Nasha Mukti, cleanliness, women-led entrepreneurship, PM SVANidhi, Vocal for Local and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He shared examples of women who have used financial assistance under PM SVANidhi to expand their businesses and build independent livelihoods. He also highlighted how cleanliness initiatives can transform the identity of places and shared stories of achievers and entrepreneurs from across the country, including Nagaland.
The Prime Minister also referred to the participation of people in the Tiranga campaign, with eight crore Tiranga selfies uploaded from across the world, and stressed the importance of promoting local products and supporting local entrepreneurs to make Indian products globally competitive.
The BJP said the workshop was aimed at strengthening the party’s commitment to Jan Seva and contributing towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat through sustained public outreach and service-oriented activities.
Meanwhile, an extended state executive meeting of the BJP was held at the DK Convention Centre here, with Chief Minister Pema Khandu, State BJP in-charge Ashok Singhal and State BJP president Kaling Moyong taking part.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Moyong said the party will organise a month-long ‘Sewa Sankalp Utsav-2026’ from September 17 to October 17 to highlight the transformation and development achieved in the country and Arunachal Pradesh over the past 25 years.
He said Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast have witnessed major changes in connectivity and infrastructure, including telecommunications, road and digital connectivity, air services and the development of airports and heliports.
Moyong said the party would use various public outreach activities to inform people about the transformations and achievements. These will include literary competitions in schools, plays and skits, quiz competitions, painting competitions and other programmes at different platforms.
He said the Prime Minister has consistently emphasised the importance of the development of the Northeast for the overall development of the country, adding that the transformation from the ‘Look East’ policy to the ‘Act East’ policy has further strengthened the region's connectivity and development.
Moyong further informed that a meeting of cabinet ministers was held at the state BJP headquarters, while a core group meeting discussed various organisational issues and preparations for the upcoming Sewa Sankalp Utsav.
