Shooting prodigy Marpi Karlo to represent Arunachal at New Delhi Nationals

ITANAGAR, Aug 30: In a commendable feat, a ‘would be’ star on the sports horizon - Marpi Karlo will represent Arunachal Pradesh at the National Shooting Championship Competition (NSCC) in New Delhi.

11-year-old Marpi booked her berth for the National Shooting Championship Competition after making her mark at the 13th North East Zone Shooting Championship in Guwahati. The young gun scored 369 points out of 400 at the Championship held from August 25 to 30 that propelled her to qualify for the NSCC in the Sub-Youth and Youth categories.

Marpi, a Class VII student of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Nirjuli, is the daughter of Jummar Karlo and hails from Lower Siang district.

In the meantime, the Arunachal Pradesh Rifle Association (APRA) has congratulated Marpi on her achievement, describing her performance as a matter of pride for the State. The association said Marpi’s success reflects her dedication, discipline and commitment to shooting.

APRA president Chukhu Apa conveyed his best wishes to the young shooter and expressed confidence that she would continue to excel at the national level.

Moreover, the APRA, while extending its best wishes to the young shooter, expressed hope that she will continue to bring laurels to Arunachal Pradesh and the country.
