ITANAGAR, Sep 4: Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended his greetings to the teaching community of the state on the eve of Teachers’ Day, acknowledging their vital role in shaping the future of society.
In his message, the Governor described teaching as a noble profession carrying the responsibility of enlightening, inspiring and preparing young people to face life with confidence and purpose.
He said teachers influence not only the academic development of students but also their character, values and sense of responsibility. Their words, conduct and encouragement, he added, can leave a lasting impression on students throughout their lives.
Parnaik called upon teachers to emerge as “game changers” by embracing innovation, social responsibility and a strong commitment to nurturing confident, skilled and ethical citizens.
He emphasised that educational institutions should equip students to become productive assets to society by fostering innovation, employability and entrepreneurship. Students, he said, should be encouraged to create opportunities and generate sustainable wealth through the responsible utilisation of Arunachal Pradesh’s natural and human resources.
The Governor also paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day, recalling his contributions as a scholar, philosopher, teacher and former President of India.
Parnaik expressed hope that Teachers’ Day would inspire both teachers and students to uphold the ideals of knowledge, integrity, compassion and service and contribute towards building a united, enlightened and prosperous Arunachal Pradesh and India.
