ITANAGAR, Sep 4: As part of its Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026-27 organized at Seppa today, 138 Bn of CRPF conducted a Basic Tailoring Skill Development Training Programme (SDP) from August 28 to September 4 for local boys, girls and villagers of the AOR of F/138 Bn, Seppa.
The programme aimed to promote skill development, self-employment and livelihood opportunities.
The closing ceremony was attended by Rajesh Sankhla, Commandant, 138 Bn CRPF, Kajam Dada, chairman Type-I Colony (Seppa), Tagia Natung, secretary Type-II Colony (Seppa), and other local dignitaries.
Appreciating the CRPF's efforts toward community welfare, they stated that the Force has always extended its helping hand to the local population wherever deployed. They also appealed to the villagers to continue extending their cooperation and support to the State Police and CRPF in maintaining peace, security and development in the area.
In his address, the Commandant thanked the local community for their continued cooperation and stated that the Battalion regularly conducts such programmes based on local requirements. He highlighted that six Companies of the Battalion are deployed at different locations, where similar welfare and skill development activities are undertaken.
Sankhla encouraged the trainees to utilize the skills gained during the training for income generation, self-reliance and supporting their families.
During the closing ceremony, certificates and sewing machines with complete accessories were distributed to the trainees who successfully completed the training.
The CAP reaffirmed the commitment of 138 Bn CRPF towards community welfare, skill development, self-reliance and strengthening the bond with the local population.
