ITANAGAR, Sep 7: A Livelihood and Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) on ‘Food Processing and Marketing’ was inaugurated at Raga under the implementation of BMMU-SRLM, Raga with grant support from NABARD.
The programme will provide skill training to 60 SHG women members in two batches to promote entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods in the food processing sector.
Addressing the participants, Durga Boro, LDM, Kamle, emphasized the importance of SHG credit linkage and encouraged members to utilize bank loans for expanding their enterprises.
Dr Lalit Maurya, DDM, NABARD, urged participants to actively engage in the training and explore opportunities for establishing individual or SHG-led enterprises after completion of the programme. He also highlighted the importance of market linkage and digital marketing for improving the reach and profitability of SHG products.
L Rinya, Food Safety Officer, advised participants to focus on food hygiene and safety practices and assured departmental support for obtaining food licences and certifications.
Taw Papu, District Horticulture Officer, Kamle, noted the district's strong potential for food processing-based livelihoods and appreciated NABARD's initiative, assuring departmental support to SHGs.
Earlier, the Block Mission Manager, SRLM Raga, briefed participants on the training plan and informed that credit camps and convergence with various departments would be explored to support enterprise development.
