Guv describes Vice President’s visit as ‘a reflection of the nation’s deep commitment to aspirations of people of Arunachal’

ITANAGAR, Sep 9: Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik, while attending the Seventh (Special) Session of the Eighth Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today, described the visit of Vice President C P Radhakrishnan as a reflection of the nation’s deep commitment to the development, progress and aspirations of the people of the State.

In his address, the Governor welcomed the Vice President and said that the people of the State felt honoured by his historic visit, which had inspired confidence and encouragement among the citizens. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people, the Governor thanked the Vice President for his continued support and interest in the growth of Arunachal Pradesh.

Sharing the State’s vision, the Governor said that Arunachal Pradesh is committed to building a prosperous, inclusive, self-reliant and secure future where development goes hand in hand with environmental conservation and cultural preservation.

Highlighting the State’s progress, the Governor said that Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed unprecedented transformation over the past decade under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the steadfast support of the Government of India. Significant investments in connectivity, healthcare, education, tourism, digital infrastructure, border area development, skill development and green energy have accelerated the State’s socio-economic growth, he said.

The Governor said that enhanced connectivity has emerged as the cornerstone of this transformation. The operationalization of Donyi Polo Airport, expansion of national highways, strategic border roads, railway links and digital infrastructure have improved accessibility, strengthened economic opportunities and integrated Arunachal Pradesh more closely with the national growth trajectory, he said.

Emphasizing governance reforms, he said that the State Government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has brought governance closer to the people through initiatives such as Sarkar Aapke Dwar, Seva Aapke Dwar and Cabinet Aapke Dwar. These programmes have improved service delivery and ensured that the benefits of development reach even the remotest villages.

The Governor highlighted the State Government’s focus on harnessing the strengths of Youth Power, Green Power and Security as the key pillars of Arunachal Pradesh’s development journey. He also highlighted the growing role of women-led development, noting that women across sectors are emerging as leaders, entrepreneurs and changemakers, significantly contributing to the State’s progress and inclusive growth.

The Governor said that sustained efforts in education, livelihood promotion, self-help groups, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship and skill development have empowered women to play a more active role in the State’s socio-economic advancement.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, and State Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte also addressed the members, highlighting the State’s developmental progress, democratic values, and collective commitment towards the growth and prosperity of Arunachal Pradesh. (PRO to Governor)
