LONGDING, Sep 9: A five-day Eco-Adventure and Cultural Tourism Training Camp themed ‘Catch them young’, sponsored by MLA and Adviser to Minister PWD (Eastern and Central Zone B) Honchun Ngandam, commenced on Monday last.
The adventure activities ware flagged off by Dekio Gumja, Superintendent of Police Longding and Laichoi Wangpan, ZPM Chubam Anchal Block (Longding).
The three days’ activities of the Camp held at Longpit Chanu Zaklo, Longding covered activities like Tent Pitching, Zipline, river crossing, rafting, rock climbing and repelling.
On the 3rd day today, the training included trekking, bird watching, Map and Compass reading, emergency rescue operation and basic paragliding.
The event management was done by M/s Mount Adventure team and all trainers came from different parts of the country with expertise in different areas.
The training camp is organized by the District Tourism Office, Longding. All the participants were from Travel and Tourism students of Govt Hr Secondary schools of Wakka and Pongchau, led by the their teachers.
For the second time, Ngandam sponsored the Eco-Adventure and Cultural Training Camp in Longding district. This initiative aims to promote immense tourism potential of the district, create awareness about the importance of tourism, and encourage the younger generation to explore tourism as a promising livelihood and business opportunity.
