MALIGAON, Sep 9: To facilitate passengers and clear the extra rush of passengers during the upcoming festival season, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to extend the operation of two additional pairs of special trains. These include Train No 04008/04007 (Anand Vihar Terminal – Jogbani – Anand Vihar Terminal) Festival Special Express and Train No 08047/08048 (Santragachi Jn – Naharlagun – Santragachi Jn) Special. These special services will provide additional connectivity and enhanced travel options, helping passengers plan their journeys more conveniently during the festival season. These trains will operate with their existing schedule, timings, composition and stoppages.
The services of train no 04008 (Anand Vihar Terminal – Jogbani) Festival Special Express have been introduced for five trips from 10th October to 7th November, 2026. In the return direction, train no 04007 (Jogbani – Anand Vihar Terminal) Festival Special Express will operate for five trips from 11th October to 8th November, 2026. The train will operate via Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Gonda, Gorakhpur Jn, Chhapra, Hajipur, Barauni, Begusarai, Khagaria, Naugachia, Katihar, Purnea Jn, and Forbesganj, among other stations. The train will have 20 coaches for the convenience of passengers.
Further, the operation of train no 08047 (Santragachi Jn – Naharlagun) Special has been extended for three additional trips on 11th, 18th and 25th September, 2026. In the return direction, train no 08048 (Naharlagun – Santragachi Jn) Special will operate for three additional trips on 12th, 19th and 26th September, 2026.
