KHONSA, Sep 10: Aimed at providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to the local community, the District Health Society (Tirap) conducted an Integrated Health Camp – Ayushman Arogya Shivir at Turet village under Deomali sub-division of Tirap district today.
The Shivir was inaugurated by Soha ZPM Thingnok, who highlighted the importance of bringing essential healthcare services closer to people living in rural and remote areas.
The camp was attended by Dr Bimal Ratan, District Medical Officer (DMO) Tirap; Dr Thenyak Matey, DTO/DACO; Dr Phongku Mongwangham, Medical Officer Soha, along with nurses, technicians and other health department personnel from Tirap district.
A wide range of healthcare services and awareness activities were conducted during the day-long camp. These included general health check-ups and distribution of free medicines, TB screening, HIV and syphilis screening, X-ray services, PMJAY and CMAAY enrolment, Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening, Rapid Diagnostic Testing (RDT), and sputum collection.
Sputum samples were also collected as part of the PM TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, with the objective of strengthening TB detection and facilitating timely treatment and follow-up among the community.
The Integrated Health Camp provided an important platform for delivering multiple healthcare services under one roof and ensuring that people in remote areas have access to preventive, diagnostic and curative healthcare facilities.
The DHS (Tirap) reaffirmed its commitment to expanding healthcare outreach and ensuring that essential health services reach communities across the district, particularly those residing in remote and underserved areas. (DIPRO)
