ITANAGAR, Sep 10: As part of its ongoing efforts towards community outreach and welfare, 138 Bn of CRPF conducted a Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026-27 at Naharlagun today.
Under the CAP, a Basic Tailoring Skill Development Training was conducted from September 2 to 9 for local boys, girls and villagers residing in the AOR of D/138 Bn, Naharlagun.
The initiative was undertaken with the objective of providing practical skills and creating opportunities for self-employment and sustainable livelihood.
The closing ceremony was graced by Rajesh Sankhla, Commandant 138 Bn CRPF, as well as Rina Gioji, Corporator, Itanagar Municipal Corporation, along with local representatives and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the Commandant congratulated the trainees on successful completion of the course and urged them to put their newly acquired tailoring skills to practical use. He emphasized that such initiatives are intended to provide useful vocational skills to the local population and assist beneficiaries in becoming self-dependent and financially productive.
As part of the concluding event, four sewing machines with pedestal stands, along with stools and complete tailoring accessories, were handed over to the beneficiaries.
IMC Corporator appreciated the initiative undertaken by 138 Bn, CRPF and acknowledged the efforts of the Force in reaching out to the local community through welfare-oriented programmes.

The programme reflected the continued commitment of 138 Bn, CRPF towards community engagement, skill enhancement, self-reliance and strengthening cordial relations with the local population.
