ZIRO, Sep 11: The Branch MSME-DFO, Itanagar, in collaboration with the District Industries Centre (DIC), Lower Subansiri, and APM&SIDA, organised a PM Vishwakarma awareness programme at the DIC Hall here on Friday to help local artisans access government support, modern marketing tools and export opportunities.
The full-day programme focused on skill development, finance, digital marketing, packaging, e-commerce and market access for traditional artisans and craftspeople.
Vijay Sehrawat of MSME-DFO, Itanagar, briefed participants on the key benefits of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, including skill upgradation, financial assistance and opportunities to participate in national trade fairs. He also encouraged artisans and entrepreneurs to register their businesses through the Udyam Registration portal.
Representatives of the State Bank of India, including Pankaj Rai and Bikwas Debnath, explained procedures for accessing loans, credit facilities and social security schemes for workers in the unorganised sector.
Rohit Sahu of SLPMU Papumpare conducted an interactive session on packaging, product pricing and e-commerce platforms. He also demonstrated how artificial intelligence (AI) tools can assist artisans in digital marketing and online customer engagement.
Local tax official Takhe Rinyo explained basic export requirements, compliance procedures and documentation for selling indigenous products in overseas markets. Post Master Nani Tadi, along with India Post Payments Bank officials, briefed participants on the DakGhar Niryat Kendra (DNK) initiative for facilitating international shipments through post offices.
A help desk was also set up at the venue, where artisans received on-the-spot assistance with Udyam Registration and generation of QR codes for digital payments. DIPRO
