Training on scientific goat rearing held at KVK Papumpare

ITANAGAR, Sep 12: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Papumpare, conducted a training programme on scientific goat rearing on Friday to promote modern goat farming practices among farmers and rural youth.

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr Tadung Taku, Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science), who highlighted the importance and advantages of scientific goat rearing. He also explained the selection of suitable goat breeds for establishing a successful goat farm.

Dr Nabam Gama, Farm Manager, KVK Papumpare, spoke on housing and management practices, stressing the importance of proper housing, hygiene and effective farm management.

Dr Bangkeng Perme, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Papumpare, deliberated on feed and feeding practices in goat farming. He encouraged farmers and rural youth to take up scientific goat farming as a viable and profitable livelihood enterprise.

More than 50 trainees participated in the programme.
