PASIGHAT, Sep 13: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Arunachal Pradesh president Kaling Moyong on Sunday announced that the party would organise a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026 across the State from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and commemorate his 25 years of uninterrupted public service as “a constitutional head”.
Addressing a press conference at Pasighat, Moyong said September 17 had traditionally been observed by BJP workers as Seva Pakhwada, reflecting the Prime Minister’s emphasis on public service, good governance and the welfare of the poor and underprivileged.
He said that, in view of the milestone, the party had decided to organise the month-long campaign under the theme “Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva”—service to humanity is service to God.
Moyong highlighted Modi’s political journey from a grassroots worker to the Prime Minister of India, stating that his public service began with his assuming office as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, and had continued for 25 years.
He also referred to various initiatives and development programmes undertaken during Modi’s tenure, including poverty alleviation, food security, social security, healthcare, housing, infrastructure development, Digital India, Make in India and PM Gati Shakti.
Moyong said the campaign would be implemented across Arunachal Pradesh through the party’s organisational network covering 28 districts, 74 mandals and more than 2,200 Booth Level Committees.
Among the major activities planned are Seva Diwas and Aashirwad Ka Diya on September 17, under which citizens will be encouraged to light lamps at 7 pm; drawing and speech competitions for students under Mere Sapno Ka Bharat; and programmes to honour Anganwadi and ASHA workers under Angan Milan Seva.
Other initiatives include Seva Ki Kahani, highlighting beneficiaries of welfare schemes; Seva Mera Yogdan, involving public participation in service activities; Seva Setu Abhiyan, through block-level service camps; and the Seva First Innovation Challenge to encourage innovative ideas from youth, students, startups and professionals.
The campaign will conclude with Sushasan Samvad, a good governance dialogue involving elected representatives and public representatives, on October 17.
Moyong also contrasted the performance of governments before 2014 with the development initiatives under the Modi government, claiming that India had emerged as the world’s fifth-largest economy and was progressing towards becoming the third-largest economy.
He appealed to BJP workers across the State to participate actively in the campaign and reach out to all sections of society, stating that the initiative should become a people-oriented movement centred on public service, good governance and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
