ITANAGAR, Sep 14: Among the leaderboard of Hindi Announcers in Arunachal Pradesh, Boke Bagra comes out on top owing to his soulful voice that mesmerized listeners for over three decades, and he is still going great guns.
Fittingly, Bagra – ‘The Man with the Golden Voice’ – was honoured with a special award by the Department of Hindi, Donyi-Polo Govt College (DPGC), Kamki during its celebration of Hindi Diwas today.
In a major highlight during the Hindi Diwas celebration, came the presentation of the “Arunachal Pradesh Hindi Sevi Samman, Donyi-Polo Shashkiya Mahavidyalaya Kamki, 2026,” instituted by the Dept of Hindi, DPGC (Kamki). The honour was conferred upon Boke Bagra, Hindi Announcer, AIR Itanagar, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the promotion and service of Hindi language in Arunachal Pradesh.
During a special felicitation programme ‘Vibhag Ke Gaurav’, alumni achievers of the department were feted. The recipients included Gedo Ete, Hindi programme presenter/announcer, AIR & DDK Itanagar; Kiran Talukdar, independent Hindi journalist; Gamli Kamduk, Hindi programme presenter/announcer, AIR & DDK Itanagar; and Nyasum Karcho, Yomjum Sora, Yajo Mize and Henlu Nyori, who were selected as PGT Hindi in 2026.
The results of the literary competitions organized last week as part of the celebration were declared, and prizes were distributed to the winners.
Earlier, starting with a welcome song presented by the students of the Dept of Hindi, and welcome address delivered by HoD Dr Doge Ngomdir, the programme was graced by Dr Gomo Karbak, Principal DPGC Kamki, and Dr Priyanka Priyadarshini, Associate Professor, Department of Economics.
The celebration provided an occasion to recognize contributions to Hindi, encourage literary and cultural participation among students, and honour individuals who have contributed to the growth and promotion of the language in Arunachal Pradesh.
