ITANAGAR, Sep 17: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday joined the nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026 on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday, organising blood donation camps and the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme across the State.
The month-long campaign, being observed from September 17 to October 17, is centred on the theme “Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva” and commemorates Modi’s 25 years of service as a constitutional head - first as Chief Minister of Gujarat and subsequently as Prime Minister of India.
As part of the Seva Diwas activities, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organised blood donation camps at various locations across Arunachal Pradesh. The BJYM State Unit, under the leadership of State president Tame Siyang, organised a camp at Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar, where party workers and youth volunteers participated in the blood donation drive.
Later in the evening, from 6 to 7 pm, the BJP organised the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme at designated locations in the Itanagar Capital Region. The initiative symbolised prayers, blessings and good wishes for the Prime Minister’s good health, long life and continued service to the nation.
At the Theravada Buddhist Temple, Vivek Vihar, the programme was led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and BJP State President Kaling Moyong, in the presence of senior party leaders and office-bearers.
Similar programmes were held at Nyedar Namlo, Itanagar, attended by Health and Family Welfare Minister Biyuram Wage; Gangda Yurchum Girijapyi Temple at 6 Kilo, attended by IMC Mayor Likha Nari Tadar along with party workers and members of the public; Naharlagun Church, attended by MLA Techi Kaso; and Donyi Polo Airport, Hollongi, attended by Minister Ojing Tasing.
According to the party, the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme was also organised across 28 districts and 74 Mandals of BJP Arunachal Pradesh.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan will continue until October 17 with various programmes focusing on public service, welfare, outreach and good governance.
