YINGKIONG, Sep 22: Dr Ashok Tajo, a 2003-batch Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS) officer, assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Upper Siang district on Tuesday.
Tajo, who has served in various administrative capacities across Arunachal Pradesh, succeeds Talo Jerang as Deputy Commissioner.
A farewell-cum-welcome programme was organised here at the DC Office conference hall, where officers and staff of the district bid farewell to Jerang and welcomed Tajo.
Speaking on the occasion, Jerang thanked the subordinates for their support and cooperation during his tenure. He said collective efforts of the district administration had contributed to the development and welfare of Upper Siang and urged officials to continue working as a team.
Jerang also appealed to the officers and staff to extend full cooperation to the new DC for smooth functioning of the administration and effective implementation of government welfare schemes and development programmes.
Tajo sought the cooperation and support of officers and staff and emphasised coordination, teamwork and collective responsibility in carrying forward the district's development agenda.
DDSE Duhon Tekseng highlighted Jerang's initiatives towards strengthening educational infrastructure and improving facilities and opportunities for students.
HDO Oter Gao, DVO Dr Theru Borang and Mariyang ADC Nangkong Borang also shared their experiences and conveyed their best wishes to Jerang and Tajo.
