PASIGHAT, Sep 24: With the long-pending issue of land encroachment concerning the premises of GHSS Borguli and GUPS Borguli, a joint meeting was successfully convened at the Govt Hr Sec School (GHSS Borguli) to initiate appropriate measures for safeguarding the school land.
Chaired by DDSE Odhuk Tabing, the meeting was attended by various stakeholders, including Bapiyang Tayeng, ZPM Monggu Banggo; SMC members; PRI representatives; Gaon Burahs (GBs); Monggu Banggo leaders; school authorities; and members of the local community.
During the meeting, participants held detailed deliberations on the existing land-related concerns and their possible implications for both educational institutions.
Following the deliberations, the stakeholders “agreed” on the need for a coordinated and systematic approach to obtain proper documentary recognition of the school land and safeguard it from further encroachment or unauthorised occupation.
Addressing the gathering, the DDSE assured all possible assistance and support from the Education department for the welfare and overall development of GUPS Borguli and GHSS Borguli.
He appealed to all stakeholders to maintain mutual cooperation, coordination and collective responsibility to further improve the functioning, infrastructure and overall educational environment of both schools. He emphasised that the active involvement and cooperation of the community and other stakeholders would be essential for the sustainable development and protection of the institutions.
The ZPM also assured all possible help and assistance for the development of both institutions.
She appealed to all stakeholders and community members to remain united and work collectively towards making the school premises more secure, conducive and developed.
The meeting “unanimously” resolved to initiate the process for obtaining the Land Possession Certificate (LPC) for GUPS Borguli and GHSS Borguli from the competent authority, through a committee formed for the purpose.
Meanwhile, Kalen Komut, general secretary, ATA East Siang District Unit, appreciated the collective efforts of the Education department, school authorities, PRI representatives, community leaders, GBs and other stakeholders towards addressing the issue.
