ITANAGAR, Sep 27: The VKV Alumni Association (VKVAA) has outlined a series of initiatives to strengthen its district-level network and expand community-oriented activities across Arunachal Pradesh ahead of the Golden Jubilee celebration of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas (VKVs) in the state in 2027.
The decisions were taken at the association’s general body meeting held at the Vivekananda Centre for Human Excellence, Tigdo, Yupia, attended by senior alumni members, advisors, office bearers and representatives of district units.
The meeting discussed a proposal to organise Asthi Visarjan of late A Balakrishnan ji at five major rivers of the state — Lohit, Tirap, Siang, Subansiri and Kameng. The respective district units will facilitate the programme in their areas.
Strengthening district-level alumni units was another key focus, with members emphasising wider participation and increased activities at the grassroots level.
The meeting also deliberated on preparations for the Golden Jubilee of VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh, scheduled for 2027. Members discussed initiatives to mark the milestone and highlight the contribution of the VKV movement to education and social development in the state.
Joint Secretary, VKVAPT Arunachal Pradesh, Rupeshji, was among those present at the meeting.
