MALIGAON, Sep 27: In view of the forthcoming Puja, Diwali and Chhath festival season this year, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to continue existing special train services as well as operate additional special trains. These services will provide convenient travel options, facilitate increased passenger movement and strengthen connectivity during the festive period.
The special services include trains connecting Secunderabad – Naharlagun, Santragachi - Naharlagun, Howrah - Lumding and Kolkata - New Jalpaiguri. These services will connect important destinations across the Northeast, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Telangana regions, offering enhanced travel options and improved connectivity to passengers during the festival season.
Train No 07046 (Secunderabad - Naharlagun) Special will depart Secunderabad from 2nd October to 30th October, every Friday at 08:30 hours to reach Naharlagun at 16:00 hours on Sunday. In the return direction, 07047 (Naharlagun - Secunderabad) Special will depart from Naharlagun from 5th October to 2nd November, every Monday at 13:00 hours to reach Secunderabad at 21:50 hours on Wednesday. The service will operate for 5 additional trips in each direction, as per the existing days of run, timings, stoppages and composition.
08047 (Santragachi - Naharlagun) Special will depart Santragachi from 2nd October to 27th November, every Friday at 18:00 hours to reach Naharlagun at 20:50 hours on Saturday. In the return direction, 08048 (Naharlagun – Santragachi) Special will depart from Naharlagun from 3rd October to 28th November, every Saturday at 23:55 hours to reach Santragachi at 04:15 hours on Monday. The service will operate for 9 additional trips in each direction.
03005 (Howrah - Lumding) Special will depart Howrah from 16th October to 27th November, every Friday at 07:15 hours to reach Lumding at 08:00 hours on Saturday. In the return direction, 03006 (Lumding – Howrah) Special will depart Lumding from 17th October to 28th November, every Saturday at 11:00 hours to reach Howrah at 12:30 hours on Sunday. The service will operate for 7 additional trips in each direction. The train will have stoppages at important stations including Bandel, Katwa, Jangipur Road, Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri, Kamakhya, Hojai and other stations enroute.
03129 (Kolkata–New Jalpaiguri) Special will depart Kolkata from 17th October to 29th November, every Saturday and Sunday at 23:10 hours, to reach New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 hours on Sunday and Monday, respectively. In the return direction, 03130 (New Jalpaiguri - Kolkata) Special will depart New Jalpaiguri from 18th October to 30th November, every Sunday and Monday at 12:45 hours, to reach Kolkata at 00:40 hours on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. The service will operate for 14 additional trips in each direction. The train will have stoppages at important stations including Naihati, Nabadwip Dham, Azimganj, New Farakka, Barsoi and Kishanganj, among others.
