AACS seeks third-party inspection of flood protection work in Seijosa

ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The Arunachal Anti-Corruption Sena (AACS), Pakke Kessang district unit, has sought an independent third-party technical inspection of the ongoing FM&BAP flood protection work along the upstream side of the Decorai Irrigation Project at Seijosa.

In a representation to the Chief Secretary, the organisation said concerns had been raised by local people regarding alleged financial irregularities, lack of transparency, quality-control deficiencies and possible deviations in execution of the project.

The AACS unit urged the Chief Secretary to direct the concerned authorities to furnish project-related documents, technical records and quality-control reports, including test reports pertaining to earthwork, embankment compaction, concrete, cubes and blocks, cement, steel and other construction materials.

It also sought independent verification of the approved project alignment against the alignment currently being executed at the site. The organisation said such verification was necessary to ensure that the work was carried out in accordance with the sanctioned design, technical specifications, approved estimates, contractual conditions, quality-control requirements and applicable financial and administrative rules.

The AACS Pakke Kessang unit further requested consideration of the revival or reconstitution of the proposed Arunachal Pradesh-Assam Interstate Coordination Committee in consultation with the competent authorities and stakeholders of both States.
