ITANAGAR, Oct 4: Khonsa West MLA and Advisor to the Minister for Transport and DoTCL Chakat Aboh on Sunday flagged off the 100-Day Sunday Campaign on “Nasha Mukt Yuva – For Arunachal Pradesh and Vikshit Bharat 2047” at the Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy ground here at Chimpu.
The programme, organised jointly by MY Bharat, Arunachal Pradesh, under the Government of India, and the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, was attended by students and youth from Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy.
Addressing the gathering, Aboh urged young people to stay away from narcotic and other harmful substances and channelise their youthful energy towards education, physical fitness, discipline and constructive activities.
She said the youth have an important role in shaping the future of Arunachal Pradesh and the country, and called upon them to make responsible choices and contribute towards the development goals for 2047.
The programme was also attended by guest of honour Gumsen Lollen and programme coordinator Shatrughan Gungli.
Following the flag-off, a cultural programme was held and a Nasha Mukt pledge was administered to the participating students and youth.
The organisers said the campaign seeks to promote awareness among young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage them to adopt healthy and productive lifestyles.
