ITANAGAR, Oct 6: Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul called on Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi in New Delhi today and discussed several issues concerning the welfare, protection and development of women and children in the State.
During the meeting, the two Ministers deliberated on strengthening ongoing development initiatives and exploring effective strategies for women-led development, child protection, nutrition and early childhood care, Dasanglu said in a social media post.
They also discussed measures to create greater opportunities for women and adolescent girls and strengthen mechanisms aimed at ensuring their safety, well-being and empowerment across the State.
Dasanglu reiterated the state government’s commitment to further strengthening programmes for women and children, ensuring that the benefits of various welfare schemes reach people at the grassroots level.
She also expressed gratitude to the Union Ministry for its various initiatives, particularly those recognizing and supporting the contribution of Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi helpers and ASHA Didis, who play a crucial role in delivering essential services at the community level.
During the interaction, the Union Minister lauded the Agan Milan Sewa Sammelan of AWWs and ASHA Didis organized recently in the State. She appreciated the initiative and the role played by frontline workers in strengthening the delivery of women and child welfare services.
Dasanglu said the Union Minister assured “full” support and cooperation in addressing the issues raised during the meeting and in further strengthening initiatives for the welfare and empowerment of women and children in the State.
The Arunachal Minister said coordinated efforts between the Centre and the State would further strengthen the delivery of welfare programmes and improve their reach at the grassroots.
