ITANAGAR, Oct 7: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has awarded scholarships to four meritorious students from the Puroik community in recognition of their outstanding performance in the Class X and Class XII board examinations.
Each student will receive Rs 7,000 from the ‘Governor’s Excellent Awards’ corpus fund established to support the educational advancement of students associated with the Puroik Welfare Society.
The recipients are Jeena Siji and Naya Purik of Class XII, and Charmak Soja and Bissly Painchey of Class X and have achieved commendable academic results despite social and economic challenges.
While approving the scholarships, the Governor expressed happiness that all four awardees were girls, describing their achievements as a source of pride and an encouraging example for other young women in the community. He hoped the scholarships would motivate more students to pursue education with determination and confidence.
Emphasising the transformative role of education, Parnaik said education remains one of the most powerful instruments of social empowerment. He wished the awardees continued success and urged them to inspire other children from the Puroik community to pursue their aspirations and contribute to the progress of the State.
