ITANAGAR, Oct 9: The Arunachal Pradesh Police on Thursday flagged off an Ekta Diwas motorcycle rally from Police Headquarters (PHQ) here to participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on October 31.

Inspector General of Police (Administration) Tusar Taba flagged off the rally and informed the media that seven police personnel embarked on the journey from Itanagar, of whom five would participate in the main rally at Ekta Nagar.

Taba said similar rallies had been flagged off from different states across the country, with participants set to converge in Gujarat for the national unity celebrations. The team would then proceed to Siliguri, where members of the Sikkim team would join them, before continuing through Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat.

During the journey, the riders will visit schools, colleges and other institutions to spread awareness about communal harmony, brotherhood and the importance of preserving traditional and cultural values. They will also promote healthy living and raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

Organised under the theme “Fight Against Drugs”, the rally seeks to strengthen the message of “Drug-Free Arunachal, Drug-Free India” while highlighting the importance of national integration and social responsibility.
