Cong chief Kharge’s effigy burnt over ‘Baap’ remark on PM Modi as Arunachal BJP joins nationwide protest

ITANAGAR, Oct 26: Joining the nationwide protest, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Arunachal Pradesh Unit, launched a massive demonstration against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over his controversial “Baap” remark targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an event in Patna.

Hundreds of BJP karyakartas gathered at the State BJP headquarters here, raising their voices against what they termed an unacceptable attack on the dignity of the esteemed office of the Prime Minister.

The protest, led by State general secretaries Tadar Niglar and Junty Singpho, culminated in the burning of Kharge’s effigy, sending a strong political message against the Congress leadership’s choice of language.

The demonstrators strongly condemned the remarks, asserting that political opposition must never become an excuse for personal insults against the elected leader of the nation. They questioned the Congress leadership’s commitment to maintaining dignity and decorum in public discourse.

The State BJP said that the people of India deserve constructive politics, accountable leadership and respectful debate, not personal attacks on the Prime Minister. The party workers reaffirmed their solidarity with the nationwide protest and their resolve to stand firmly against what they consider disrespectful political rhetoric.

In an unequivocal message, the State BJP said that political differences are part of democracy, but respect for the office of the Prime Minister must not be compromised.
