HPSC delegation visits APPSC to study recruitment reforms, best practices

ITANAGAR, Oct 26: A delegation from the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), led by its members Mamta Yadav and Dr Sonia Trikha, visited the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on Monday to study its recruitment reforms, examination procedures and administrative practices.

The HPSC team is on a five-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh and was received by APPSC Chairman Prof (Dr) Pradip Lingfa, Members, Secretary Priytarshny and senior officials.

During the interaction, the APPSC made presentations on examination reforms, technology-driven recruitment processes, digitisation, grievance redressal and measures to strengthen transparency, accountability and administrative efficiency.

Prof Lingfa outlined initiatives undertaken to improve the Commission’s functioning and enhance the credibility and fairness of recruitment examinations. Priytarshny explained the procedures followed in conducting examinations, highlighting safeguards designed to ensure fairness and procedural integrity.

The HPSC delegation appreciated several APPSC practices, including the provision for challenging answer keys, a coding system to conceal candidates’ identities during viva-voce, outreach programmes, and the deployment of senior government officers as observers and coordinators. The team also took note of PwD-friendly examination halls, examination-integrity mechanisms and staff capacity-building initiatives.

Both Commissions exchanged experiences and ideas on strengthening recruitment systems, improving administrative processes and adopting effective practices through institutional collaboration.

The visit is expected to promote knowledge-sharing between the two state commissions and support efforts to make public recruitment more transparent, efficient and accountable.
