Festorama 2026 celebrates cultural diversity at Don Bosco College

JOLLANG, Oct 31: Don Bosco College, Itanagar, organised its annual cultural and food fest, ‘Festorama 2026’, on Saturday under the theme “Many Cultures, One Campus”, showcasing the cultural diversity of Arunachal Pradesh and promoting unity among students.

Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki attended the event as the chief guest, while Jollang Gram Panchayat Chairperson Kholi Purnima was the guest of honour. Members of the Jollang Panchayat and well-wishers of the college also attended.

Principal Dr Fr Jose George, in his welcome address, said the fest was organised to help students remain connected to their cultural roots. He said the event also marked the beginning of the annual College Week celebrations, which will conclude on November 7, with six houses competing for the championship.

Rector Fr CD Mathai urged students to cherish their individual traditions while strengthening unity among the tribes of the state. He said cultural diversity was a defining feature of India’s democratic and pluralistic identity.

Tuki appreciated the students for organising the event and lauded the six houses for their performances of traditional songs and dances. He also acknowledged the college’s NAAC ‘A’ grade accreditation and its contribution to quality education in the state.

Drawing an analogy between a tree and a teacher, Tuki emphasised the importance of hard work and a sense of duty. He wished the participating houses success in the forthcoming College Week events.
