RAGA, Nov 1: Auditions for the second edition of Kamle Idol will begin at Ligu village on November 12, with the organisers announcing a series of preliminary rounds across the district ahead of a mega audition at Raga on November 19.
The schedule was announced by the organising committee at a press conference held at the Raga Press Club on Sunday. Topu Banor, chairman of Kamle Idol Season 2, said the competition was being organised under the aegis of the Nyishi Art and Culture Welfare Society (NACWS), seven years after the inaugural edition.
The preliminary auditions will begin at Ligu village on November 12 and conclude at Dollungmukh on November 15. Selected participants from five audition zones will subsequently compete in the mega audition at Raga on November 19.
The organisers announced that the top five finalists would get an opportunity to feature in an audio album sponsored by Er Tare Murtem, president of the Kamle Employees’ Welfare Association (KEWA). They would also secure direct entry into the upcoming Nyishi Idol competition.
In a move aimed at ensuring a fairer selection process, the committee has discontinued the earlier voting pattern and introduced a new system. The organisers said the revised process was intended to give talented singers, including those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, a fair opportunity to showcase their abilities.
The competition is open to participants aged between 13 and 35 years. Further details on the auditions and competition will be shared through the organisers’ official social media platforms.
