245 exhibits on show at Science Exhibition in VKV, Itanagar

ITANAGAR, Nov 2: Aimed at inculcating scientific temper and practical innovation among the young minds, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Itanagar organized its annual School-level Science Exhibition today, featuring 245 exhibits—comprising 157 working models and 88 static displays—crafted by students from Classes V to XII.

The inaugural session was graced by two of the VKV alumni Er LOD Chama as chief guest and Gyamar Gagung as guest of honour.

Middle-schoolers drove the highest overall turnout, with Class VI presenting a chart-topping 55 models (35 static, 20 working), followed by VII with 37 (20 static, 17 working) and V with 23 (10 static, 13 working).

Meanwhile, secondary students dominated the functional prototype category, spearheaded by Class X with 34 working and 2 static models, alongside strong showings from Class IX (24 working, 2 static) and VIII (23 working, 7 static). At the senior secondary level, Class XI and XII Science students demonstrated applied scientific rigour with 19 exhibits (17 working, 2 static) and 10 exhibits (9 working, 1 static) respectively, while Humanities students bridged the interdisciplinary divide by presenting 9 static models across Class XI (4) and XII (5).

Visiting parents, judges, and faculty toured the exhibition halls throughout the day, commending the young innovators for their emphasis on hands-on experimentation and real-world problem-solving.
