ITANAGAR, Nov 7: Minister for Commerce and Industries, Labour and Employment, and Information, Public Relations and Printing (IPR) Nyato Dukam has appealed to the Tagin Cultural Society (TCS), members of the Tagin community and the general public to extend their support to the 5th edition of ‘Ngunu Tagin’, scheduled to be held on December 5.
The cultural event, spearheaded by its founder Gona Niji and the Arunachal Runway team, aims to showcase and promote the rich indigenous heritage and traditions of the Tagin community.
Calling for collective support, Dukam said the community was fortunate to have dedicated platforms that could take its cultural heritage to a wider audience. He noted that the event is part of a cultural showcase series that has previously highlighted other indigenous communities of Arunachal Pradesh.
The minister appealed to all 20 Tagin sub-clans, community elders and citizens to extend their cooperation to the organisers to ensure the success of the event.
He also appreciated the active involvement of women's wings across various Tagin sub-clans, acknowledging their role in providing mentorship and grassroots support for preserving and promoting traditional Tagin culture. (DIPR)
