YUPIA, Mar 30: Retired engineer Ratu Techi of BJP has been officially declared as elected unopposed from Sagalee Assembly Constituency by the Returning Officer after the completion of the nomination process including the last date of withdrawal of candidature which came to an end today.
Ratu Techi was the lone candidate for Sagalee constituency with incumbent MLA Nabam Tuki opting out to contest as the Congress candidate from the Arunachal West parliamentary seat.
Meanwhile, sitting MLA Techi Kaso has also been declared elected unopposed from Itanagar constituency by the Returning Officer cum DC Shweta Nagarkoti. Kaso remained the only candidate for Itanagar after the nomination paper of his lone rival candidate Tai Tadap of NPP was rejected during scrutiny.
On the other hand, Doimukh assembly constituency will witness a triangular contest among the sitting BJP MLA Tana Hali Tara, PPA candidate Nabam Vivek and INC’s Nabam Tado.
DC Nagarkoti said that voting for the elections to the two Lok Sabha and 50 other Assembly seats will be held on April 19 and requested the denizens to come forward and exercise their adult franchise on the poll day. She further appealed to the denizens to abide by the model code of conduct till completion of the poll process. (DIPRO)
