NSS volunteers urged to be an ambassador of ‘clean society’

ITANAGAR, Apr 29: A four-day annual special camp, conducted by the NSS unit of Govt College Doimukh (GCD), concluded at Chode village in Keyi Panyor district today.

The annual camp was aimed at instilling a sense of social responsibility and community service among the NSS volunteers.

During the clean-up operation of the village, the NSS volunteers actively engaged in various activities such as cleaning of main water tanks, repairing the drains, and installation of dustbins in every household among others.

A large number of villagers participated in the cleanliness drive.

In the meantime, NSS programme officer Dr Eva Dupak highlighted the adverse effects of environment destruction and the importance of a clean environment. She encouraged the NSS volunteers to be an ambassador of clean society and also advised the villagers to maintain cleanliness of their surroundings to maintain the natural beauty of the village.

The Gaon Burih (GB) of the village, Taw Yari exhorted the team to continue with their community service in different villages.

The Gram Panchayat members also echoed the GB’s sentiments.

As part of the camp, interaction-cum-cultural programme was also organized in attendance of teaching and non-teaching members of the college.
