Training on "Data Science using Python, MATLAB" begins

Itanagar, Apr 29: National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Itanagar in collaboration with the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) has announced the commencement of a five-day training programme on "Data Science using Python and MATLAB." 

The training programme, aligned with the NEP 2020, aims to explore the immense potential of Data Science in revolutionizing our lives and industries. The inaugural ceremony took place at the seminar hall of the Electrical Engineering Department, NERIST. The training is being imparted by resource persons from NIELIT Guwahati, Apurva Dey, and Anindita Das on behalf of Techbooster Guwahati.

The purpose of this training programme on "Data Science using PYTHON and MATLAB" is to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to navigate the dynamic field of data science effectively. Through a comprehensive curriculum, participants will delve into the principles, methodologies, and tools of data science, with a particular focus on the versatile programming languages, PYTHON and MATLAB. 

The aim of the program is threefold: Skill Development in line with Vikshit Bharat 2047 and NEP 2020, Knowledge Enhancement, and Professional Growth. To provide participants with hands-on experience and practical skills in data manipulation, analysis, visualization, and modelling using PYTHON and MATLAB. By mastering these essential tools, participants will be better prepared to tackle real-world data challenges and make data-driven decisions across various domains. To enhance participants' understanding of key concepts and techniques in data science, including machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling.

Through interactive sessions, workshops, and case studies, participants will deepen their knowledge and gain insights into the latest trends and advancements in the field. Overall, the training program seeks to foster a collaborative learning environment where participants can exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, and gain practical experience that will enable them to excel in their careers and contribute meaningfully to the field of data science.

The inaugural event was graced by NERIST Director Prof Narendranath S and Er Rintu Das, Director in-charge of NIELIT Itanagar. Prof S Gao, Dean (Acad.), Prof M Chandrasekaran, Dean (Admin.), and Dr Moirangthem Marjit Singh, Associate Professor (CSE) and also the SPoCP for NIELIT shared their expertise and insights in the inaugural program.
