ITANAGAR, Oct 13: With a view to integrate indigenous dialects into telecom networks, a meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Nyamar Karbak, Chairman Information Technology & Communication (IT&C), GoAP here today.
The meeting, which witnessed officials from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Govt of India, including the Deputy Director General (SG), DoT, along with senior officers from the Dept of IT&C, GoAP in attendance, deliberated on including local dialects in telecom automated voice messages and announcements across the State.
The initiative seeks to enhance linguistic inclusivity and ensure that communication systems are more accessible and relatable to all citizens, especially in rural and tribal areas.
The discussions focused on the technical feasibility, implementation framework, and policy considerations for integrating indigenous dialects into telecom networks. The move aims to make mobile and landline communication systems more user-friendly, culturally representative, and inclusive for the people of Arunachal Pradesh, according to an official press note.
Speaking at the meeting, Karbak emphasized that incorporating regional dialects into automated voice services would be a significant step toward preserving linguistic heritage while promoting digital inclusivity and cultural pride in the State.
