ITANAGAR, Oct 13: In a bid to promote health and cooperation among faculty members and students, Rajiv Gandhi University’s Department of Education under the leadership of its HoD Prof Boa Reena Tok, Prof Elizabeth Hangsing (Dean Faculty of Education) and Dr Tayum Saroh (organizing secretary), successfully organized its first intramural badminton competition from October 9 to 13.
It attracted enthusiastic participants from students across MA (Education), BEd, Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) and faculty members. A total of 21 teams participated in the event.
In the thrilling final, the team of Jumyi Doyom and Tatu Rai (from BEd I Semester) emerged victorious in the men’s doubles, while the pair of Gyammar Kak & Takam Yani from MA III Semester won the women’s doubles title.
Medals and certificates were awarded to the winners and runners-up team players, while all participants received appreciation for their spirit and effort. All faculty members gave their full support to the event and came forward to make it happen and cheered the players wholeheartedly throughout the tournament. The event not only fostered a healthy competition but also reinforced the values of teamwork and perseverance among students.
