NAHARLAGUN, Oct 13: Indigenous Affairs Minister Mama Natung today inaugurated the Tribal Heritage and Cultural Center here in the presence of former Advisor to the Chief Minister, Tai Tagak, Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) president Dr Emi Rumi, and representatives of various temples, Namlos, and indigenous faith leaders of the state.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister appreciated the Nyedar Namlo Lapwng, Naharlagun, for their initiative to provide spiritual and humanitarian services to patients. “The Tribal Heritage and Cultural Center can serve as a platform for spiritual harmony and cultural unity, where diverse traditions come together to strengthen the values of peace, brotherhood, and mutual respect,” he emphasized.

Natung also urged the youth to practice and promote indigenous healing systems to help preserve and protect traditional knowledge and culture.

In his address, Tai Tagak advised the committee not to confine the center’s activities solely to religious matters, noting its strategic location near TRIHMS. He encouraged them to extend their services and support to patients of the hospital.

Expressing concern over the state government’s delay in framing rules for the implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act (APFRA), 1978, IFCSAP president Dr Emi Rumi informed that a mass peaceful rally is being organized on October 18 to press for its early implementation.
