Namsai wins 2nd place in NITI for States Use Case Challenge Awards

Itanagar, Oct 17: Namsai district has brought laurels to Arunachal Pradesh by securing 2nd position in the NITI for States Use Case Challenge Awards under the Agriculture and Allied Services category. The district received a cash award of Rs 3 lakh for its innovative initiative titled “Driving Adoption of Soil Health Card”.

The recognition was conferred under the NITI for States (NFS) platform hosted by the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in collaboration with NITI Aayog under the State Support Mission on October 9 last.

The NITI for States Use Case Challenge, held between December 2024 and February 2025, invited District Magistrates and Collectors from Aspirational districts and blocks across India to identify key local challenges, analyse them using data, and design replicable solutions.

With over 250 submissions across six thematic areas—Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Allied Services, Infrastructure, Social Development, and Financial Inclusion with Skill Development—Namsai’s project was lauded for its innovative and data-driven approach to promote sustainable farming practices and empower local farmers through the effective adoption of the Soil Health Card scheme.

The achievement underscores Namsai’s growing reputation for innovation in governance and sustainable rural development, setting a model for other districts to emulate in improving agricultural productivity and farmer welfare, officials said.
