NEEPCO’s Kameng Hydro Power Station partners with Dist TB Centre, Bomdila as Ni-Kshay Mitra

BOMDILA, Oct 17: The Kameng Hydro Power Station (KaHPS), Kimi, NEEPCO Ltd has joined hands with the District TB Centre, Bomdila, as a Ni-Kshay Mitra under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, reaffirming its commitment to the nationwide campaign to eliminate tuberculosis (TB).

As part of the initiative, representatives from NEEPCO distributed nutritional food baskets to 65 TB patients at the General Hospital, Bomdila. The effort falls under NEEPCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District TB Centre on September 22 last to support patients for a period of six months.

Each food basket includes essential nutritional items such as rice, pulses, eggs, and health drinks, aimed at improving the overall health and immunity of TB patients and promoting faster recovery.

District TB Officer N Drema informed that noticeable nutritional improvements have already been observed among patients within just a month of the programme’s launch.

The event was attended by AC Sharma, Deputy General Manager; Dr Himangshu Barman, Deputy Chief Medical Officer; Mimar Ete, Head of Security from KaHPS, NEEPCO; Dr S Yomcha, Medical Superintendent, General Hospital, Bomdila; and other officials.

The initiative underscores NEEPCO’s continued support for community health and aligns with India’s vision of achieving a TB-free nation by 2025. (DIPRO)
